2009 was declared the “Year of Science” in order to engage young people in the topic, and improve public understanding about how it works and why it matters. Salient, Victoria University’s weekly student magazine, required an eye-catching cover for its science themed issue.
The word ‘awesome’ hints at the spectacle and wonder of science, and at the same time engages youthful minds.
It was morphed into a mathematical formula, and large three-dimensional custom letterforms were built. A party ensued, complete with bright hats, streamers, cake and dry ice.
